(Moncton, NB): The Saint John Mill Rats posted a dominating performance in their season opener, 125-97, over the Moncton Miracles at the Moncton Coliseum.
Saint John led 20-19 after a sloppy first quarter, but extended that to a 55-43 lead at the half.
Moncton scored the first six points of the third quarter before Saint John began to click. They led 86-70 going into the fourth and never let up, building a 28 point lead by the final buzzer.
Aquille Carr and Kenny Jones led the Mill Rats with 23 points each, while Anthony Anderson had 21, and Eric Crookshank 22 points and 16 rebounds. Tyrone Levett also added 15.
The Mill Rats are back in action Thursday night November 6th at 7PM at the Eastlink Arena to face the Island Storm. Saint John's home opener is Sunday November 9th at Harbour Station at 2PM.
